A runner mid-stride on a track at sunrise, long shadow behind

Story · Wollongong NSW since 2021

Started at a 5:40 am start line

Two physios, one surf club car park and a kitchen bench covered in loose capsules. This is how Hotfoot got from there to a tear-off sachet.

Where it began

Tubs on the bench were the problem

Ana Lisowski and Luke Tran treated runners and rugby players at a clinic on Keira Street. Every patient had the same story: five tubs bought with good intentions, two taken, three expired in the cupboard.

In 2021 they started pre-sorting each person's capsules into dated paper sachets on Luke's kitchen bench. The waiting list hit 400 before they had a name. Hotfoot came from a parkrun marshal shouting it at Ana on the final straight.

What we make, and from what

Fewer products, made properly

We add a product only when members ask for it more than any other. Each one is mixed by a contract maker in western Sydney to our formula, then sealed into sachets on our own line in Wollongong.

Every batch, before it is sealed

We test it, then we print the results

A sample of every batch goes to an independent lab in Sydney for dose, heavy metals and microbes. The batch number is on your sachet strip; type it into the help page form and we email you that batch's report.

If a batch misses its stated dose by more than 10%, it does not ship. That has happened twice, both times with vitamin C.

The house rules

What goes in, what stays out

  • Doses printed per capsule, never hidden in a blend
  • Plant shells — cellulose capsules, pectin gummies, algae oil
  • Paper-based sachets that go in the household recycling
  • A person answers email, usually Ana, Luke or Bridie
  • No proprietary blends or “matrix” labels
  • No titanium dioxide, no artificial colours
  • No mega-doses for the sake of a bigger number
